What the extension does
GBP Sweep reads business listings that Google Maps and Google Search show you, and saves the ones you choose in your browser. It runs on Google pages (www.google.com and Google's country domains) and on this website, where it only tells the site that it is installed.
Your collection stays on your device
Businesses you collect, your lists, filters and settings are stored in your browser's extension storage. We do not receive them. They leave your device only when you export a file yourself.
When you open your dashboard on this site, the page asks the extension in the same browser for a summary (how many businesses, your lists, your last sweep) and shows it to you. That summary goes from the extension to the page in your browser; it is not sent to our server.
What our server receives
- Account. If you sign in, we store your email address, when you joined and when you last signed in. Sign-in uses a cookie that keeps you signed in for 30 days; it holds your email address, signed so it cannot be forged. The extension stores a scoped sign-in token in this browser to unlock your saved results. We use no analytics or trackers.
- Sign-in emails. Sign-in links are sent through our email provider, Resend, which processes your address to deliver the message.
- Google sign-in. If you choose Sign in with Google, Google confirms your identity and verified email address. We store a protected identifier linking your Google account to your GBP Sweep account. We request only sign-in and email access. We do not request access to your Gmail messages, Drive files or contacts, and do not store Google access or refresh tokens. See Google's privacy policy.
- License checks. If you use Pro, the extension sends your license key to our server about once a day to confirm the subscription. We store a hash of the key with the subscription status, renewal date and the email you used at checkout.
- Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe sends us your email, a customer id and the subscription status; we never see your card. See Stripe's privacy policy.
We do not sell personal data. Vercel hosts the website and encrypted account and license records. Resend delivers sign-in emails, and Stripe processes payments. These providers process the information needed to provide their services.
Requests to Google
To complete a business's profile, the extension asks Google for that business's public listing from your browser, the same request Google Maps makes when you open a business.
Deleting data
Delete businesses or everything from the Collection page, or remove the extension. To delete your account or billing record, email us and we will remove it, except invoices the law requires us to keep.
